Job summary

CommuniCare Health Center Careers is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both front and back office operations, including patient intake, referrals coordination, and data entry. The role involves administering injections, assisting with EKGs, screenings, and patient care within the MA scope of practice.

You will document medical histories and vital signs, participate in audits, manage supplies, and ensure accurate insurance posting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year experience as a Medical Assistant and/or a Medical Assistant Diploma and/or a Medical Assistant Certification.
• Experience with EMR/EHR preferred.
• Experience in a primary health care setting preferred.
• Knowledgeable of personal computers.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association.
• Ability to travel to other clinic sites as needed.
• Scheduled hours and/or work locations are subject to change.

Responsibilities

• Assists with day-to-day operations of front and back office and coordinates referrals and patient communication.
• Administers injections and assists with non-invasive procedures; supports EKGs and screenings.
• Collects patient history, vital signs, and ensures quality metrics documentation for audits.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and ensures equipment calibration and cleanliness.
• Registers patients, updates demographics, and verifies/inactivates insurance plans.
• Performs end-of-day reconciliation of cash and secure deposit.
• Prepares for next day by updating income proofs and pre-registering patients.
• Provides exceptional customer service and cross-department support.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
