Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year experience as a Medical Assistant and/or a Medical Assistant Diploma or Certification.
• Experience with EMR/EHR preferred.
• Experience in a primary health care setting preferred.
• Knowledgeable with personal computers.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to travel to other clinic sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assists front and back office operations, coordinating referrals and patient communication.
• Administers injections and assists with EKGs, screenings, and basic patient care.
• Obtains medical history and vital signs; documents quality metrics for audits.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and ensures equipment calibration and cleanliness.
• Registers patients, updates demographics, verifies insurance and posts encounters.
• Performs end-of-day reconciliation and cash handling procedures.
• Prepares for next-day clinic by prepping charts and screen eligibility.
• Provides exceptional customer service and assists other departments as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
