Job summary

CommuniCare Health Centers (Texas) seeks a Medical Assistant to support both front and back office duties, including patient check-in, documentation, and coordination of referrals. The role requires completing injections, EKGs, screenings, and basic patient care within MA scope.

You will collect medical history, vitals, and ensure quality metrics are documented; assist audits and maintain supplies. Travel to other clinic sites may be required; strong customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year experience as Medical Assistant and/or MA Diploma/Certification.
• EMR/EHR experience preferred.
• Experience in a primary health care setting preferred.
• Knowledgeable of personal computers.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Ability to travel to other clinic sites as needed.
• Hours/locations may change.

Responsibilities

• Assist day-to-day front and back office operations.
• Administer injections and assist with EKGs and screenings.
• Obtain patient history, vital signs, and document quality metrics.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure equipment is calibrated.
• Register patients, update demographics, and verify insurance.
• Reconcile end-of-day cash and deposit securely.
• Pre-register patients and screen for program eligibility.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients and internal staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
