Job summary

Holy Name Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to support front and back office clerical and clinical services in physician offices. The role involves performing venipunctures, taking vital signs and EKGs, receiving specimens, and assisting physicians as part of the practice management team.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program, and CMA-AAMA certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA CMA certification must be obtained within 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all medical procedures necessary (e.g., venipunctures, vital signs and EKGs) on patients as required and explains testing procedures to patients.
• Receives specimens from patients and documents information in medical records.
• Visually reviews test results for completion and abnormalities.
• Schedules and registers patients in the doctor’s office; answers phones; greets patients; assists physicians as needed.
• Maintains strict patient confidentiality.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
