Job summary

United Hospital Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform basic nursing support and assist physicians and nursing staff in a clinical setting. The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, MA program graduation or 1 year of clinical experience, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Preferred candidates have healthcare education coursework and at least one year of healthcare experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or 1 year clinical experience.
Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire date.
Completion of healthcare education coursework preferred.
One year of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

Greets and escorts patient to exam rooms; obtains initial information and vital signs.
Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and supplies.
Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
Assists provider during patient examinations and procedures.
Educates patients on follow up expectations.
Maintains quality control testing logs as required.
Ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition.
Assists patients with completion of medical documentation.
Assists with office administrative tasks including phones, messages, data entry and deposits.
