Job summary

Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, NJ is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Gastroenterology practice. You will perform venipuncture, vital signs and EKGs, and assist physicians in both front and back-office tasks.

The role requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, a high school diploma, and 1–3 years of hospital or physician office experience. CMA certification is required within 90 days and a comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
• 1-3 years hospital or physician’s office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures, vital signs and EKGs as required.
• Receives specimens from patients.
• Manually documents information for specimens and tests in medical records.
• Visually reviews test results for completion and abnormalities.
• Schedules and registers patients; answers phones; greets patients; assists physicians in the office.
