Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians by gathering patient information, performing screenings, and aiding in diagnostic procedures. This role emphasizes flexible, energetic collaboration within care teams to ensure a high-quality patient experience.

The MA will assist with vital signs, screenings, vaccinations, and point-of-care testing, while maintaining accurate EMR documentation and strong communication with patients and providers.

Qualifications

• State or national certification (as required by state), or graduation from an accredited medical assistant course.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant
• CPR or BLS Certification
• Electronic Medical Record experience
• Computer skills: navigate multiple programs (Gmail, Word/Docs, Excel)
• Proficiency in non-English languages as required by the center’s demographics.
• US work authorization

Responsibilities

• Ensure an efficient patient flow; room patients and complete vital signs.
• Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support.
• Administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests where allowed by state regulations.
• Import documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
• Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment.
• Request medical records from external providers as required.
• Conduct routine quality control checks including infection control measures.
• Other duties as assigned.
