Job summary

Oak Street Health seeks a Medical Assistant - Float to support multiple centers and ensure accurate patient information for clinicians. You will be part of a care team, handle vital signs, screenings, and testing, and help maintain an efficient patient flow.

The role requires MA certification or equivalent, 1 year MA experience, CPR/BLS, and EMR proficiency. Clinical flexibility and strong communication are essential to serve diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

• State or national certification, or graduation from an accredited medical assistant course.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant is preferred.
• CPR or BLS Certification required.
• Electronic Medical Record experience is necessary.
• Proficiency with basic computer programs (Gmail/Docs/Sheets, Word/Excel).
• Non-English language skills may be required depending on center demographics.
• US work authorization is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow, room patients promptly, record vital signs, and review medications.
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support and record sharing.
• Administer vaccinations and perform point-of-care tests as allowed by state regulations.
• Import documents into the EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
• Participate in care team meetings and support clinic operations.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment and request medical records as needed.
• Maintain infection control, equipment checks, and center lab as required.
