Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers with patient information, screenings, and routine diagnostic procedures. The MA will work closely with care teams to ensure accurate medical data, efficient patient flow, and high-quality service in our centers.

Responsibilities include vital signs, screenings, vaccinations, EMR documentation, and collaboration with the Practice Manager and center operations staff.

Qualifications

• State or national certification (as required by state), or graduation from an accredited medical assistant course.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant
• CPR or BLS Certification
• Electronic Medical Record experience
• Computer skills: navigate multiple programs (Gmail, MS Word/Google Docs, Excel)

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow; room patients, take vital signs, complete screenings and medication reviews
• Inventory management of supplies and stocking exam rooms
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support and records
• Administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests per state regulations
• Import documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload
• Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations
• Process orders for durable medical equipment
• Request medical records from external providers as required
• Maintain center lab and infection control measures
• Other duties as assigned
