Job summary

Scroll Tab is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform DOT and Non-DOT drug testing, assist clinicians, and handle both clinical and clerical tasks. The role includes preparing patients, performing rapid screenings, assisting with procedures, and managing supplies and records.

The ideal candidate will have a medical assistant program credential or relevant experience, familiarity with HIPAA, and strong customer service skills to support patient flow and care in a fast-paced center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred, or at least one year of direct patient care experience.
• Military medical specialist experience may meet credentials per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations including vitals and ancillary testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Handle routine medical procedures and triage emergent patients as needed.
• Prepare and assist with procedures and injury care.
• Apply bandages, dressings and splints as ordered.
• Dispense medications and DME per state regulations.
• Maintain supplies, clean rooms, and stock exam rooms.
• Operate and calibrate medical devices with record-keeping.
• Notify supervisor of equipment issues or supply needs.
• Support patient flow and communicate wait times.
• Perform front office duties and ensure accurate documentation.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
• Attend staff meetings and maintain facility cleanliness.
