Job summary

ScrollTab is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations and patient care. You will perform both DOT and non-DOT drug testing, prepare patients for exams with vital signs, and assist clinicians during procedures.

The role includes clerical duties, accuracy in documentation, and adherence to HIPAA policies. The ideal candidate has a medical assistant background, EMT/CPR preferred, and 12+ months of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; medical assistant program preferred or experience in direct patient care.
• Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program with externship; military medical experience acceptable.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred; continuing education not required to maintain license.
• 12+ months of medical assistant experience typically expected.
• Ability to work with HIPAA and PHI in handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for exams, record vital signs, and collect ancillary tests including vaccines.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Handle routine medical procedures and triage emergencies.
• Assist with procedure setup and injury care.
• Apply dressings and splints as ordered.
• Dispense medications and DME per state regulations.
• Maintain supplies, clean rooms, and stock exam rooms.
• Document accurately; front/back office duties and HIPAA compliance.
