ScrollTab in Lake Forest, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support occupational health services. You will perform DOT and Non-DOT drug testing, prepare patients for exams, conduct rapid screenings, and assist clinicians during visits.

The role requires completing a MA program or at least 1 year of direct patient care, knowledge of medical procedures, and state-specific occupational medicine requirements. Strong customer service and HIPAA compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred, OR at least one year of direct patient care experience as a medical assistant.
• Six months or more of medical assistant experience.
• Knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology.
• Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) preferred.
• Certifications in Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol Certification, Hair and Oral Fluids Collection.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsabilités

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and required ancillary testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Triage and perform routine medical procedures as ordered; handle emergent situations.
• Prepare and assist clinician with procedure setup and injury care.
• Apply bandages, dressings and splints as ordered.
• Dispense medications and DME as ordered in accordance with state regulations.
• Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and testing processes.
• Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms.
• Operate and calibrate medical devices; document activities per policy.
• Notify supervisor if equipment or supplies are insufficient.
• Support patient flow and inform patients of wait times.
• Handle front and back office clerical tasks and accurate documentation.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
• Attend staff meetings and monthly competency training.
• Maintain neat, clean, and orderly facility appearance.
