Hometown Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant in Streetsboro, OH, to support clinicians and staff in clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

You will collect patient histories and vital signs, perform basic testing and phlebotomy, assist in exams, and manage records and referrals while maintaining HIPAA compliance and a clean, stocked environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in a physician practice or clinic preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including EMR use.
• Ability to work independently with good clinical judgment.
• CPR certification required.

Responsabilités

• Take patient history and record vital signs.
• Perform basic tests and screenings (vision, hearing, urine screens, EKGs, PFT).
• Collect blood for lab samples via phlebotomy; handle paperwork.
• Administer injections and document procedures.
• Perform point-of-care tests (strep, glucose, influenza, pregnancy tests).
• Dispense and document medications and treatments.
• Maintain sterile technique and equipment sterilization.
• Schedule records and coordinate ancillary care referrals.
• Assist providers during exams and testing (pelvic, eye/ear irrigations).
• Handle occupational medicine testing (urine screens, breathalyzer, audiogram, DOT physicals).
• Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA) and update records.
• Ensure equipment works; report malfunctions.
• Manage patient callbacks, referrals, and education.
