Job summary

Hometown Urgent Care in Berea, OH is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and ensure patient safety and comfort. You will perform clinical and administrative tasks to facilitate care and maintain smooth patient flow.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of clinic experience, CPR certification, and proficiency with EMR systems. Candidates should be able to work independently, communicate effectively, and deliver compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in a physician practice or clinic preferred.
• Basic computer skills including EMR usage.
• Ability to work independently with strong clinical judgment.
• CPR certification is required or to be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and obtain vital signs.
• Perform basic testing and screenings (vision, audio, UDS, EKGs, PFT).
• Perform phlebotomy and collect lab samples.
• Complete paperwork for lab tests and treatments.
• Administer injections and document procedures per policy.
• Perform point-of-care tests (strep, glucose, pregnancy, urinalysis).
• Dispense medications and document treatment modalities.
• Maintain sterile technique and sterilize equipment.
• Coordinate records and referrals for patients.
