The role involves taking histories and vital signs, basic testing, phlebotomy, injections, point-of-care testing, documentation, and coordinating records. CPR certification and EMR familiarity preferred; strong attention to confidentiality and teamwork required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience in a physician practice or clinic preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including EMR usage.
• Ability to function independently with strong clinical judgment.
• CPR certification must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and obtain vital signs.
• Perform basic testing and screenings (vision, audio, urine screens, EKGs, PFT).
• Perform phlebotomy for lab samples and document results.
• Administer injections and complete required paperwork for procedures.
• Conduct point-of-care tests (strep, glucose, influenza, urinalysis).
• Dispense medications and document treatments.
• Maintain sterile technique and sterilization procedures.
• Coordinate records for ancillary care and referrals.
• Assist providers during exams and testing.
• Administer occupational medicine tests (DOT, drug screens, audiograms).
• Protect patient confidentiality (HIPAA) and report equipment issues.
