Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support practices in clerical, clinical, and business tasks under supervision of a nurse or physician in Epping, NH.

The role includes pre-visit work, vital signs, medication reconciliation, exam support, scheduling, and handling patient communications; you may also perform scribing duties and assist with vaccines and prescriptions.

Qualifications

• CMA/RMA/CCMA certification required or eligible within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties such as pre-visit work, obtaining vital signs, providing medication reconciliation, and assisting provider in examinations and/or procedures.
• Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization; ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
• Respond to patient portal messages the same day.
• Complete pre-visit work, close gaps in care, administer vaccines, and process prescription refills.
• Schedule pre-admission and diagnostic testing; make follow-up calls after surgery.
• Handle daily administrative tasks: check in/out, scheduling, phones, messages, charting, coding, payments.
• Maintain compliance with policies/regulations, ensure confidentiality and safety, participate in daily huddle.
• May perform scribing, document encounters, order labs/referrals/prescriptions as advised by provider.
• Monitor care team metrics and contribute to improvements.
• Provide coverage for other Core Offices as needed.
