Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• CMA/RMA/CCMA certification or registration within 6 months of hire, or credentialed through a formal training program with testing.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties such as pre-visit work, obtaining vital signs, medication reconciliation, and assisting provider in examinations and/or procedures.
• Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization and ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
• Respond to patient phone and portal messages on the same day following standard procedures.
• Administer vaccines, complete prescription refills, and follow standing protocols to close gaps in care.
• May schedule pre-admission and diagnostic testing and place follow-up calls to patients after surgery.
• Assist with daily administrative duties: greeting, scheduling, answering calls, organizing patient charts, processing payments, and balancing the daily journal.
• Adhere to Core policies, patient confidentiality, safety, infection control, and participate in daily huddles.
• In some practices, may perform scribing duties and document encounters; may order labs, referrals, and prescriptions.
