Job summary

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic is hiring a Medical Assistant Apprentice in Toppenish, WA. The program combines paid on-the-job training with supplemental coursework and in-person labs to develop hands-on clinical skills.

The role includes patient records management, exam room preparation, and collaboration with Providers to ensure smooth daily operations in a community health setting. CPR is required within 90 days of hire and bilingual English/Spanish is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required at level 10.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
• Strong people skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Epic EMR.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update patient medical records including medical history, vitals, treatments and medications.
• Prepare for patient visits by reviewing files and updating the Provider team.
• Support Providers for efficient schedules and continuity of care.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and sterilized equipment.
• Explain treatments and administer patient education within scope.
• Address patient questions in person and via email.
