Job summary

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic is launching a Medical Assistant Apprentice Program offering hands‑on training across 40+ clinics in WA and OR. You’ll learn from experienced MA coaches, complete 2000 paid on‑the‑job hours and 410 hours of online coursework, plus three in‑person lab days.

You’ll maintain patient records, prep visits, assist with exams, collect specimens, and educate patients within scope. Paid at $19.69/hour with 100% employer‑paid health insurance, a 403(b) plan, profit

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred at level 10.
• Solid medical knowledge to understand medical theories and technical aspects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update patient medical records, including immunization status.
• Prepare for patient visits by reviewing files and updating the provider team.
• Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
• Prepare and maintain patient exam rooms and sterilized equipment.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and review patient data in EMR.
• Provide patient education within scope and explain medications and potential allergies.
