Job summary

Unify Community Health on Mission Avenue invites applications for a Medical Assistant Apprentice in Spokane, WA. The program offers 2000 paid on-the-job hours with a MA coach, plus 410 unpaid online coursework and hands-on lab days to master clinical skills.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient records, preparing for visits, assisting physicians, managing exam rooms, and educating patients within scope. CPR required within 90 days; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to understand medical concepts and terminology.
• Excellent people and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update patient medical records with history, vitals, treatments and medications.
• Prepare for patient visits by reviewing files and notifying the Provider team.
• Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies and sterilization.
• Instruct patients on medication use and potential allergies.
