Job Description for Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant, you will support the needs of patients and ensure a smooth workflow in the office, assisting physicians with all facets of medical procedures before, during, and after. You will also strive to provide patients with an excellent service experience.

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, at our clinic locations in Frankfort, Naperville, Plainfield, Orland Park, and Oak Brook.

Responsibilities

1. Greet patients, escort them to examination rooms, and assist with form completion if necessary.
2. Familiarize yourself with clinic computer hardware and software, and use them according to company policies.
3. Answer incoming calls on multiple lines, including multilingual options.
4. Schedule appointments, reschedule as needed, and coordinate patient transportation if required.
5. Verify insurance eligibility by contacting insurance companies.
6. Perform clerical duties such as copying, filing, and faxing.
7. Maintain cleanliness and readiness of procedure rooms.
8. Assist doctors during Endovenous Laser Therapy procedures, following individual doctor preferences.
9. Prepare patients for procedures and clean up afterward.
10. Ensure patients receive post-procedure instructions and medication information.
11. Prepare IV solutions and apply sterile techniques in compliance with OSHA regulations.
12. Train new staff members and assist ultrasound staff as needed.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. 1-2 years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred).
4. Medical Assistant Certification (preferred).
5. Fluency in Spanish (preferred).
