Job summary

Gastro Florida is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our outpatient team in the Tampa Bay area. You will manage patient check-in/check-out, intake and vitals, medication reconciliation, and support providers with documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have prior GI office experience, can float to multiple locations as needed, and demonstrate reliability with high patient volumes.

Qualifications

• Previous GI specialty office experience required.

Responsibilities

• Patient check-in and check-out.
• Insurance verification.
• Patient intake, vitals, medication reconciliation
• Completing medication refills and processing medication prior authorizations
• Order entry, CPT coding, and supporting the providers with documentation
• Understanding of common medications used to treat chronic conditions
• Strong proficiency with eClinicalWorks (ECW)
• Managing the fax inbox, including timely review, routing, and documentation
• Scheduling patient appointments, follow-ups, scheduling procedures (Colon, EGD, etc.) and coordinating provider workflows

We are seeking an experienced competent, conscientious, service-oriented Medical Assistant with strong character to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in a fast-paced outpatient environment, comfortable with high volume patient loads, and able to integrate quickly with training and work under the direction of the division practice manager.
