Job summary

Gastro Florida, the largest gastroenterology group in Tampa Bay, is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced outpatient team across multiple locations. You will work under the direction of the division practice manager, handling patient check-in, vitals, intake, and documentation in a busy clinical environment.

The ideal candidate has previous specialty office care experience; GI experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous specialty office care experience is required.
• Previous GI experience helpful.
• Reliable attendance is essential.
• Ability to float to different locations as needed.
• Immediate availability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patient check-in and check-out.
• Insurance verification.
• Patient intake, vitals, medication reconciliation
• Completing medication refills and processing medication prior authorizations
• Order entry, CPT coding, and supporting the providers with documentation
• Understanding of common medications used to treat chronic conditions
• Strong proficiency with eClinicalWorks (ECW)
• Managing the fax inbox, including timely review, routing, and documentation
• Scheduling patient appointments, follow-ups, scheduling procedures (Colon, EGD, etc.) and coordinating provider workflows

We are seeking an experienced competent, conscientious, service-oriented Medical Assistant with strong character to join our team.
