Job summary

Dayton Gastroenterology in Miamisburg, OH, part of One GI, seeks a full-time Medical Assistant to join our clinic. You will record vital signs, assist physicians during visits, document health histories, manage referrals, and help with scheduling and patient communications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist physician during visits and emergencies as needed.
• Manage patient prescriptions and referrals per physician instruction.
• Assist with scheduling of visits, procedures, labs, and imaging.
• Provide patient questions answered and communicate test results.

We're currently seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our clinic at 415 Byers Rd #100, Miamisburg, OH. Qualified candidates will have previous Medical Assistant experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and a current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.

Snapshot of Daily Duties

• Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and documents all information in patient's chart.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis, as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record health history of patients.
• Assist the physician with office visits. Must be able to assist physician in an emergency.
• Manage patient prescriptions as directed by physician.
• Manage referrals as directed by physician.
• Answer patient questions. Notify patients of test results.
• Assist with scheduling office visits, procedures, laboratory tests, x-rays, outpatient testing, hospital admissions and appointments as necessary.

The Must Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant required.
• Previous experience working in a medical office environment preferred.
• BLS certified required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.
