Dayton Gastroenterology, powered by One GI, is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for our Englewood, OH clinic located at 9000 N Main Street. The candidate should have prior Medical Assistant experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience as Medical Assistant required.
• Experience in a medical office environment preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.

Responsibilities

• Measure vital signs (weight, BP, pulse, temp) and document in patient chart.
• Collect specimens for lab analysis as applicable.
• Obtain and record patient health history.
• Assist the physician during office visits; assist in emergencies.
• Manage patient prescriptions as directed by physician.
• Manage referrals as directed by physician.
• Answer patient questions and notify test results to patients.
• Assist with scheduling visits, procedures, labs, x-rays, and appointments.

Snapshot of Daily Duties

• Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and documents all information in patient’s chart.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis, as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record health history of patients.
• Assist the physician with office visits. Must be able to assist physician in an emergency.
• Manage patient prescriptions as directed by physician.
• Manage referrals as directed by physician.
• Answer patient questions. Notify patients of test results
• Assist with scheduling office visits, procedures, laboratory tests, x-rays, outpatient testing, hospital admissions and appointments as necessary.

The Must Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant required.
• Previous experience working in a medical office environment preferred.
• BLS certified required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.
