Job summary

Dayton Gastroenterology, part of One GI, LLC, is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant at our Beavercreek, OH clinic. Qualified candidates will have MA experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and a current BLS/CPR certification.

We offer a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays, plus generous benefits and opportunities for growth in a collaborative, patient-focused team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience as Medical Assistant is preferred.
• BLS certification is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology is required.

Responsibilities

• Measure vital signs and document in patient charts.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record patient health history.
• Assist the physician during office visits and emergencies.
• Manage patient prescriptions and referrals as directed by physician.
• Schedule visits, procedures, tests, x-rays, and hospital admissions as necessary.
• Answer patient questions and notify patients of test results.

Snapshot of Daily Duties

• Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and documents all information in patient's chart.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis, as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record health history of patients.
• Assist the physician with office visits. Must be able to assist physician in an emergency.
• Manage patient prescriptions as directed by physician.
• Manage referrals as directed by physician.
• Answer patient questions. Notify patients of test results
• Assist with scheduling office visits, procedures, laboratory tests, x-rays, outpatient testing, hospital admissions and appointments as necessary.

The Must Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant required.
• Previous experience working in a medical office environment preferred.
• BLS certified required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.
