Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Maryland is hiring a Medical Assistant / Medical Office Specialist to room patients, take vitals, input data into EMR, and support daily office procedures. The role includes chaperoning providers, handling pre- and post-op photos, instrument management, and room turnover, with a $1500 sign-on bonus for select positions through 2026.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and at least one year of MA/EMT-Paramedic experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vitals.

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for:

• Room patients and obtaining vitals
• Entering patient information into electronic medical record (EMR)
• Setting up and assisting with office procedures
• Chaperone providers during patient examination
• Taking pre-op and post-op photos of patients
• Maintaining surgical instruments and transporting instruments to Central Sterile (CSS)
• Processing surgical specimens and transporting them to Pathology
• Maintaining and stocking exam rooms
• Ordering clinical supplies
• Completing FMLA and Disability forms
• Cleaning and resetting exam rooms
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of one year experience is preferred as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic

Salary Information

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
