The role you’ll contribute:

The Medical Assistant will assist the provider in delivering medical care to clinic patients. Maintain high customer service skills with all patient interactions. The Medical Assistant (MA) is accountable for performing tasks within supportive and restorative care under the direction of the clinic physician. Under the general direction of the Manager, the position requires being an effective multi-tasker who provides healthcare services, recognizes patient conditions essential for successful duties, and documents patient information accurately in the E.M.R. in accordance with protocols and guidelines. Computer skills are necessary for documentation and communication. Customer service skills are essential in all aspects of the position.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Timely, accurate, and thorough completion of medical documentation upon patient intake, including standards for documentation such as mammogram, colonoscopy, smoking status, etc.
• Ability to give immunizations
• Utilize computer software for pertinent patient documentation and provide information to patients as needed (e.g., patient plan), with training provided as necessary
• Adhere to policies/procedures for patient medications and testing, refilling medications according to protocols (SMPG policies) when appropriate
• Communicate electronically with patients, in accordance with established policy standards
• Participate in group huddles to ensure continuity of care

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

· High School Diploma or Equivalent

· 1+ Year of Position-Related Experience

· Current MA certification is required. Please inquire which credential bodies are approved.

· BCLS - Basic Life Support certification
