Job summary

The Orthopedic Institute of Pennsylvania is seeking a detail‑oriented Billing Specialist to support patient and staff inquiries, post payments, and submit insurance claims. The role emphasizes accuracy, empathy, and timely cash flow within a collaborative healthcare environment.

Responsibilities include reviewing balances, reconciling transactions, handling appeals, and supporting collections. A two‑year AR background in healthcare and an HS diploma are required; certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in medical accounts receivable (A/R) resolution required.
• Prior experience in a health care organization, orthopedic setting preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required; Medical Billing and Coding certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient and staff inquiries by phone in a courteous, efficient manner.
• Review and resolve patient account balances for accuracy and resolution.
• Post patient payments and reconcile transactions.
• Submit insurance claims and appeals in accordance with policy and compliance standards.
• Research and process appeals for denied insurance claims.
• Manage collections for outstanding balances.
• Work independently with strong time management and multitasking abilities.
• Address billing inquiries, resolve claim rejections, generate reports, and handle refunds as needed.
