Qualifications

• Knowledge of accounts receivable processes.
• Understanding of health insurance basics.
• Familiarity with claim follow-up and denial management.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on insurance claims to maximize reimbursement.
• Perform insurance appeals as needed.
• Use multiple tools (queue, websites, chats, calls, emails) to follow up on claims.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 coding.
• Collaborate with insurance company representatives to overcome denials.
• Answer questions about coverage, pre-authorizations and claims.
• Communicate trends to improve initial clean claim rate.
• Assist patients with denied claims and balance questions.
• Handle inbound patient inquiries and collect payments as needed.
• Research insurance overpayments as necessary.
