Job summary

Durham County Government seeks an Income Maintenance Caseworker Lead for Adult Medicaid to direct a unit performing intake, processing, review and redetermination. The role requires deep knowledge of NC FAST and Social Service programs, with the ability to analyze complex cases and resolve appeals.

You will supervise a team, handle Medicaid-related responsibilities, and work with minimal supervision while ensuring accurate determinations and timely service delivery.

Qualifications

• Requires two year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker, or a degree from an accredited college or university; or an associate's degree in accounting, business administration, human services, secretarial science or closely related field and at least two years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience which includes negotiating, interviewing, obtaining, analyzing and/or evaluating data; or a high school diploma and at least five years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience which includes negotiating, interviewing, obtaining, analyzing and/or evaluating data.

Responsibilities

• Lead a unit over a single program area including intake, processing, review and redetermination.
• Perform eligibility determinations similar to Income Maintenance Caseworker III.
• Resolve client appeals and analyze program-wide problem areas with recommendations for corrective action and targeted training.
• Handle complex tasks in Medicaid programs and long-term care programs with independence.
• Reports to a higher-level supervisor with minimal review of work.
