Job summary

Durham County Government in Durham, NC is seeking an Income Maintenance Caseworker to join the Social Services team. You will determine applicant eligibility for Medicaid, CAP, PACE, and other programs and perform redeterminations for ongoing benefits.

Work includes leading a unit, handling complex cases, and ensuring timely, accurate decisions in a high-volume setting. Strong NC FAST knowledge, analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NC FAST and Social Service programs is required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations and procedures.
• Ability to communicate with clients and public officials to obtain data and explain rules.

Responsibilities

• Determine applicant/client eligibility and redetermination for Medicaid, CAP, and PACE.
• Lead a unit of a single program area and allocate at least 25% time as lead worker.
• Perform eligibility determination and support appeals and corrective actions.
• Resolve complex problems where actions affect clients or the agency.
• Work with independence in Medicaid long-term care programs.
