Job summary

Nash County is seeking an Income Maintenance Caseworker I to assist FCMA and Adult Medicaid teams. You will handle mail, Medicaid cards, address changes, provider updates, and daily queue work, ensuring timely processing in NCFAST and policy compliance.

The role includes assisting with reports, verifications, renewals, and backup phone coverage. Strong attention to detail and ability to work within standard procedures are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Associate Degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial Science, or a closely related curriculum.
• Graduate from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical or legal tasks with at least one year of such experience being in an Income Maintenance program (preferred Medicaid).
• Graduate from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical orT other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, the gathering and compiling of data, the analysis of data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist FCMA & Adult Medicaid caseworkers with the daily completion of various work queues and reports to ensure timely benefits.
• Key incoming paper and online applications and assist with re-certifications as needed.
• Provide backup for FRR processing and phone-call rotation during absences.
• Maintain documentation in NCFAST and shared drives, and verify information as policy requires.
