Job summary

Nash County is seeking an Income Maintenance Caseworker I to support Adult Medicaid, Food and Nutrition Services, and Family and Children’s Medicaid. Responsibilities include handling mail, calls, and scanning; updating NC FAST with changes; and assisting with re-certifications.

The role requires accurate data entry, adherence to confidentiality, and timely processing to ensure proper benefits. Overtime may be required to meet unit needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Associate Degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial Science, or a closely related curriculum.
• Graduate from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, medical office, or other public contact experience with at least one year in an Income Maintenance program (preferred Medicaid).
• Graduate from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical, medical office, or other public contact experience with data gathering, analysis, and related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming mail, phone calls, and scanning for Adult Medicaid, Food and Nutrition Services, and Family and Children’s Medicaid.
• Process address changes, returned mail, and provider changes with NC FAST updates.
• Assist with monthly re-certifications and necessary verifications for case reviews.
