Job summary

Rockingham County seeks an Income Maintenance Specialist to determine eligibility for Adult Medicaid and related programs. You will review applications, verify documents, and apply state and federal regulations under supervision. This continuous posting fills vacancies as they become available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and substantial experience with NC FAST and Medicaid programs.
• Ability to analyze complex rules and communicate them clearly.
• Experience in public social service settings and eligibility determination.

Responsibilities

• Conduct second party reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Provide staff oversight, monitor performance, and guide complex determinations.
• Troubleshoot issues and ensure consistent policy application.
• Train staff on policy updates and use of computer systems like NC Fast.
• Coordinate cross-training and support accurate, efficient case management.
• Assist with intake and recertification during peak periods.
