Job summary

Maximus is hiring an Eligibility Specialist in Terre Haute, Indiana. You will screen applications, determine eligibility for Medicaid, SNAP, and TANF, and communicate with clients to gather necessary information.

Daily you will interact with program participants, educate on services and prerequisites, and ensure continuity of eligibility and service delivery. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and data-entry skills, with the ability to handle a fast-paced environment and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven customer support experience preferred.
• Accurate data entry (40 keystrokes/minute).
• Ability to handle complex service inquiries via telephone.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Receive, assess, and screen applications; communicate with clients to collect any outstanding information.
• Validate and calculate income; assess eligibility; manage case referrals.
• Engage regularly with program participants on a daily basis.
• Educate clients on program services and eligibility prerequisites.
• Collaborate with clients to establish and attain program objectives; ensure continuity of services and eligibility.
• Handle high volume inbound calls daily; answer questions regarding Medicaid, SNAP, and TANF programs.
• Apply state and/or federal eligibility rules for applicant/recipient information assessment.
• Verify applicant/recipient data through system interfaces.
• Facilitate fulfillment of caller requests regarding eligibility information with a One Call Resolution approach.
