Job summary

Maximus in Indiana is seeking a detail-oriented Eligibility Specialist to assess and screen applications for Medicaid, SNAP, and TANF programs. You will verify data, calculate income, and coordinate with state eligibility consultants while handling a high volume of calls with professionalism.

You will educate clients on program services, document case updates, and maintain compliance with state policies. A high school diploma or GED and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 0-2 years of relevant professional experience preferred.
• Experience with Indiana Eligibility program is preferred.
• Accurate data entry (40 keystrokes per minute) and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle complex service inquiries via telephone; strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Receive, assess, and screen applications for Medicaid, SNAP, and TANF programs.
• Validate income, assess eligibility, and manage case referrals.
• Engage daily with program participants and educate on services and prerequisites.
• Communicate with applicants/recipients while researching and updating cases.
• Enter data into State eligibility system and prepare cases for disposition.
• Meet QA and performance metrics and escalate risks when needed.
