Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in healthcare, interacting with patients about hospital financial issues.
• Understanding of Revenue Cycle including admission, billing, payments and denials.
• Knowledge of patient insurance processes for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification; familiarity with CPT or procedure codes.

Responsibilities

• Interview uninsured/under-insured patients for program eligibility opportunities and initiate application processes for Medicaid or related assistance.
• Obtain and verify documents needed for the application.
• Update insurance information and ensure timely billing or posting of adjustments.
• Document all actions and communications in the patient accounting systems.
• Collaborate with Medicaid caseworkers and other revenue cycle teams to support submissions.
