Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a Full-time Public Benefit Specialist at the on-site location, HSHS - St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL.

The role focuses on interviewing uninsured or under-insured patients to determine Medicaid or financial assistance eligibility and to facilitate accurate submissions. You will coordinate applications, collect required documents, and ensure timely posting of bills or adjustments while collaborating with state, county, and federal partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years in healthcare revenue cycle or patient financial services.
• Knowledge of patient insurance processes and benefits verification helpful.
• Willingness to pursue CRCR certification within 9 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Screen uninsured/under-insured patients for Medicaid or financial assistance eligibility.
• Assist with applications to ensure accurate, complete submissions.
• Follow up on applications to support timely billing and adjustments.
• Document all actions in patient accounting systems and coordinate with Medicaid caseworkers.
