Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners is hiring a Public Benefit Specialist to assess uninsured and under-insured patients for Medicaid eligibility at the Springfield, IL location. You will coordinate applications, collect necessary documents, and ensure timely submission and billing adjustments in collaboration with county/state programs.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in healthcare interacting with patients regarding hospital financial issues.
• Must be inquisitive and open to innovation, including AI to improve processes.
• Understanding of Revenue Cycle including admission, billing, payments and denials.

Responsibilities

• Review uninsured/under-insured patients for program eligibility and coordinate the application process.
• Communicate with patients to obtain documents required for the application.
• Follow submitted applications to determination, updating insurance information and posting timely billing/adjustments.
• Document all actions and communications in patient accounting systems.
• Maintain knowledge of state and federal program requirements and collaborate with Medicaid caseworkers and other departments.
