Job summary

Knowledge Services is recruiting for an Eligibility Specialist to be on-site in South Bend, IN. You will process applications, verify information, and handle inquiries for Medicaid, SNAP, and TANF. The role emphasizes accuracy, customer service, and adherence to state policies.

You will attend trainings, meet performance metrics, and work a standard 40-hour week with a 30-minute lunch. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• Experience with social services; Indiana eligibility preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Accurate data entry at 40 keystrokes/minute.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Applies eligibility rules to determine initial or continuing eligibility.
• Checks system interfaces and exchanges to verify customer information.
• Answer inbound calls from Medicaid, SNAP, TANF applicants, recipients, and others.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of programs and systems.
• Clarify eligibility information with customers when necessary.
• Meet QA and other performance metrics.
• Reprocesses applications and missing information responses.
• Escalate risks to management and route issues to appropriate staff.
