The position emphasizes accurate data entry, knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare requirements, and the ability to educate clients on available services and payment options.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard high school, or equivalent.
• One (1) year of prior experience in an office or health-related position. Related education can substitute for experience.
• Preferred - Two (2) years prior experience in an office, preferably with at least six (6) months experience with IHC or in a community service agency.
• Indiana Navigator license required for Certified Intake Specialist.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets clients and visitors to clinic and assists with check in process.
• Makes appointments and educates clients regarding documents they will need to provide at the time of service.
• Answers phones and directs calls.
• Accurately enters, maintains, and retrieves data.
• Uses and maintains electronic medical records, accurately assembles income documents, and ensures client information is up to date and complete.
• Assists in timely completion of daily batches and monitoring billing paperwork.
• Determines eligibility for Medicaid/Medicare and signs up eligible clients.
