Indiana Health Centers, Inc. Peru is seeking an Intake Specialist to join our team.

The Intake Specialist ensures client income documents, front-office paperwork, charts, and billing are handled efficiently while delivering excellent customer service in the lobby and over the phone. You will greet clients, schedule appointments, collect required documents, enter data into the EMR, assemble income documents, and process daily batches and reports to monitor clinic effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Completion of a standard high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of prior experience in an office or health-related position.
• Proficiency in patient scheduling, including walk-ins and rescheduling.
• Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare requirements.
• Ability to juggle multiple requests and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Greets clients and visitors to clinic and assists with check in process.
• Makes appointments and educates clients regarding documents they will need to provide at the time of service.
• Answers phones and accurately direct calls.
• Accurately enters, maintains, and retrieves data on IHC's computer system.
• Uses and maintains electronic medical record, assembles income documents, and ensures client information is up to date.
• Assists in timely completion of daily Batches and audits for accuracy.
• Determines eligibility and signs up eligible clients for Medicaid or Medicare Part D, refers eligible clients to WIC programs.
