Job summary

Allure HCS, a leading provider of skilled nursing and healthcare services, is seeking a Medicaid Specialist Assistant to support the Corporate Medicaid team in Illinois. This on-site role focuses on timely Medicaid processing for residents across facilities, including eligibility reviews and document collection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility required.
• Basic knowledge of Illinois Medicaid eligibility and terminology.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
• Self-motivated with flexibility to adapt to changing workflow and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Review daily facility census for residents requiring Medicaid eligibility review.
• Identify Medicaid-eligible admissions and notify the Corporate Medicaid Specialist to ensure timely admission into the Illinois MEDI system.
• Print and organize resident face sheets and supporting documentation as needed.
• Review Illinois Medicaid verification requests and determine which required documents are available and which must still be obtained.
• Communicate professionally with facility staff, residents, families, and outside agencies.
• Contact Powers of Attorney (POA), responsible parties, family members, or other authorized representatives to obtain required documentation.
• Assist with monthly reporting and ongoing follow-up to help ensure Medicaid coverage remains current across assigned facilities.
• Support Business Office Managers with annual Medicaid redeterminations and related documentation as needed.
• Maintain accurate records while protecting confidential resident information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned
