What you will be responsible for
  • Supervise and mentor paralegals and legal assistants handling Medicaid‑related elder law cases, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring high‑quality work product.
  • Coordinate case workflows, ensuring alignment with client goals, attorney strategies, and Florida Medicaid and elder law regulations.
  • Maintain client relationships by providing transparent updates, addressing inquiries, and handling sensitive matters with empathy, such as health crises or financial concerns.
  • Monitor case deadlines and deliverables to ensure timely completion of Medicaid planning and eligibility services.
  • Prepare and review Medicaid‑related documents, including applications, asset transfer agreements, trusts, and financial affidavits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Florida Medicaid regulations.
  • Assist attorneys with legal research to support Medicaid planning strategies and stay current on developments in Florida Medicaid and elder law.
  • Organize and maintain client files, ensuring confidentiality and accessibility for attorneys and team members.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other departments (e.g., estate planning, probate) to provide integrated support for complex client needs, such as long‑term care planning.
Requirements
Who you are
  • Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited program (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in elder law, Medicaid planning, or a related legal field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Medicaid eligibility, asset protection, long‑term care planning, and Florida Medicaid and elder law regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of paralegals and legal assistants in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong drafting and reviewing skills for Medicaid‑related documents, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client, attorney, and team interactions.
  • Leadership skills to guide and motivate a team while fostering a collaborative, supportive culture.
