Job description

Absolute Law Group is growing our Long-Term Care team, and we’re looking for an experienced Florida Medicaid pro to join us. You’ll manage your own caseload of long-term care applications from the first family call through approval, guiding seniors and their loved ones through the Medicaid application process. If you know Florida Medicaid well, enjoy working with families, and like being a resource for your teammates, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Be Doing

Here’s what a typical week looks like:

  • Walk new clients and their families through the process so they know exactly what to expect
  • Prepare and file applications and recertifications
  • Review case files to make sure everything is accurate before it goes out
  • Be a go-to resource for teammates
  • Keep care facilities updated on where things stand
  • Meet clients at their homes, care facilities, or hospitals as needed to notarize and witness documents

Our attorneys handle anything that calls for legal advice, so you’ll always have backup on the big decisions. This is a non-attorney role.

You’ll Feel Right at Home If You
  • Have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Florida Medicaid long-term care, whether at an elder law firm, a nursing facility business office, DCF, or somewhere similar
  • Know your way around income and asset limits, Qualified Income Trusts, the five-year look-back, and Personal Service Contracts
  • Enjoy helping colleagues and sharing what you know
  • Have a Florida notary commission, or can get one within 60 days of starting (we’ll help)
  • Bring patience and a genuinely caring approach to working with seniors and their families
  • Have a valid Florida driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
What We Offer
  • Competitive pay
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • 401(k)
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate
  • Real room to grow with a firm that invests in its people
