Job summary

WVTM, the NBC affiliate in Birmingham, AL, offers an entry-level Sales Account Associate training program designed to develop candidates into Sales Account Executives. You will learn all facets of local television sales under the Local Sales Manager, with hands-on training and collaboration across sales, production, and finance teams.

The nine to twelve month program includes training in sales techniques, presentation skills, and exposure to Nielsen data and industry software such as WideOrbit

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• Excellent social, intrapersonal, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets).
• Must be focused and organized.
• Enterprising spirit with a goal of becoming a media sales account executive in 9-12 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist the development of sales proposals, advertising packages, and client presentations
• Create supportive marketing materials for the sales department
• Prepare proposals based on account executive requests
• Communicate with our teams (sales, production, finance) and external clients on performance and delivery of campaigns
• Enter and maintain all orders including electronic transfer and maintenance of WOCentral orders to WideOrbit
• Manage sales database
