Job summary

Waltonwood in Canton Township, Michigan seeks a Med Tech to serve as care provider, medical aide, and team leader within our Resident Care team. You will administer medications, assist with ADLs, and support residents to maintain independence and safety.

Reporting to the Wellness Coordinator, you collaborate with Caregivers, physicians, and the pharmacy to ensure accurate medication management, safety, and compassionate resident care. A CNA or caregiving/MediTech background is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• In North Carolina, CNA is required.
• Caregiving or Med Tech experience is required.
• Experience working with the elderly and memory impairment.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication to residents based on medical charts and document care.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including toileting and bathing.
• Participate in shift change meetings to communicate resident status.
• Assist with janitorial tasks as needed.
• Act as a shift supervisor to ensure resident care needs are met.
• Support Caregivers during transfers and other duties.
• Coordinate with physicians and pharmacy for proper medication orders.
• Report changes in resident conditions to physicians, families, and leadership.
• Communicate with residents, families, Caregivers, Wellness Coordinator, and doctors.
• Provide emotional support with respect and a positive demeanor.
• Promote safety through procedures and awareness of hazards.
• Assist with all other duties as assigned.
