Job summary

Waltonwood is seeking a Med Tech to join our Resident Care team. You will administer medications, assist residents with activities of daily living, and collaborate with Caregivers to promote independence and safety.

You will report to the Wellness Coordinator, participate in shift change meetings, supervise a caregiving team, coordinate with physicians and pharmacies, and communicate with residents, families, and staff while maintaining compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CNA certification required in North Carolina.
• Caregiving or Med Tech experience required.
• Experience with elderly and memory impairment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication to residents following medical charts and documentation protocols.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, toileting, dressing, mobility, and meals.
• Participate in shift change meetings to relay resident status and needs.
• Assist with janitorial tasks as needed.
• Act as shift supervisor to ensure resident care needs are met.
• Support Caregivers during shifts with transfers and related duties.
• Coordinate with physicians and pharmacies to ensure proper medication ordering.
• Report changes in resident conditions to physicians, families, and leadership.
• Communicate with residents, families, Caregivers, Wellness Coordinator, and staff.
• Provide emotional support with respect and a positive demeanor.
• Promote resident safety through procedures and equipment awareness.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
