Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide / CNA to support residents with daily living activities and medication administration. You will ensure adherence to policies, participate in training, and collaborate with nursing staff to maintain a safe, respectful environment.

The role requires completing the Medication Aide course, holding CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing, and being prepared for occasional weekend/holiday shifts while maintaining professionalism and

Qualifications

Must have High School Diploma or GED.
Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
Must possess both CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing.
Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits.
Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics.
Must be in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge and a smile.
Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner.
Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
Must be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies.

Responsibilities

Assist with administration of prescribed medications.
Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to the position.
Assist residents with activities of daily living.
Report incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals.
Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts.
Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
Follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
Assist residents to and from the dining room, and to and from activities.
Check on residents, attendance at meals and activities.
Check on residents who are ill and report status or concerns.
Communicate resident status, appointments, admissions and transfers in writing.
Assist new residents with move-in transition: provide emotional support.
Attend medication trainings scheduled.
Complete medication cart audits as assigned and maintain the medication cart as directed.
Pass all medication administration observations.
Documents all medication administration on the EMAR/MAR and report exceptions.
Re-orders medications, faxes to pharmacy, communicates with resident family as needed with changes.
Document all medication administration on EMAR and Daily Log.
Other duties as assigned.
